Making Wireless Racine
Wireless Internet was originally started by TC3 Telecom to cover the downtown Racine Square. The Racine Technology Organization (RTO), a RAMAC organization, plans to expand WirelessOnTheSquare to cover parts of the Lakefront. The coverage area would be from North Beach south to Samuel Meyers Park. The coverage would include the Root River east of the Main Street Bridge, the Racine harbor, and Festival Hall areas.
The Expansion Goals: 1) Provide FREE limited Internet access along the lakefront, 2) Provide Inernet access to support Lakefront events, 3) Help sell more events because there is Internet access, 4) Use Wireless as a marketing tool to attract event visitors and boaters to downtown businesses, 5) Use Wireless as a marketing tool for Racine and the County.
